Fresco

Acanthus offers frescoes painted with the ancient technique or with the trompe l’oeil technique with modern materials.
For the ancient technique we make use of specific supports on which a layer of curls is spread. On top of this the plaster on which, while it is still fresh, the subject is shown with the technique of dusting and then painted with pigments. When the subject is difficult the work on the plaster, with its paintings, is divided into more working days.
The trompe l’oeil frescoes are executed on different supports (wood, canvas, plaster, fiberglass, etc..) to fit specific environments (curved walls, pools, doors …) on which are applied as successive layers of a special material that makes the support similar in texture to an old plaster.
The painting is executed on subsequent layers and antique.
Several individuals were taken from the Roman frescoes, Pompeii, medieval, Renaissance, including the “Garden of Livia”, famous Roman fresco of 20-30 AD.
